A Mother's Love

We are born of love; love is our mother.

Jambo! (jam-bo) Hello!

I am delighted to learn from you, my readers, that many of you are reading my Heartfelt Stories out loud and sharing the images with your children. Reading out loud is a beautiful way to connect and share time together. With that in mind, I wrote a short children’s storybook about some of my favourite African animal mothers and babies in honour of Mother’s Day this coming week. I am grateful to Haya (3) and Mara (6) and their mothers who gave me valuable feedback about which images they preferred. I wrote this book with them in mind.

Each story begins with the name of the animal in Swahili and English. Swahili, the common language of the East African Union, is easy to read and pronounce. Words are spoken as they are is written. Twende (twen-day) Let’s go!

Here’s my audio recording of the story “A Mother’s Love” and a free downloadable PDF of the story for you.
