“Why do they destroy our heritage?” Simayo, Maasai participant in CHD Conservation Kenya’s project in Amboseli.

Big Tusker Veronsky is a target for trophy hunters if he crosses into Tanzania

What should I tell her? Asked Dr. Winnie Kiiru @winniekiiru elephant biologist, and founder of CHD Conservation Kenya @chd_conservation_kenya. Who are these people? Who gets a thrill from killing our amazing elephants?

Big Tusker bulls ensure their unique gene pool continues to the next generation.

Dr. Kiiru knows the best way to ensure the protection of Kenya’s wildlife is to help girls like Simayo stay in school, that’s why she founded conservation camps in Amboseli. Dr. Kiiru’s entire career has been dedicated to protecting elephants and conservation. She is on the board of The Amboseli Trust @amboseli_trust, a founding member of Women for the Environment Africa @womenviroafrica, a lecturer at Kenyatta University, and more. In 2023 she was appointed the Executive Director of Princeton’s Mpala Research Centre in Kenya.

Tourists inject millions of dollars annually into the local economy to see Amboseli’s elephants.

I told Dr. Kiiru to tell Simayo many of us are joining the campaign to save your elephants. We care! I have no answer regarding trophy hunters who come from afar to kill Africa’s wildlife. It is sickening. Show Simayo you care and sign the petition to stop trophy hunting in TZ.
